Public/Private Partnerships

EV market development is a collaborative effort requiring funders, entrepreneurs, elected officials, government staff, investors, economic development entities, public and private institutions, manufacturing, and professional services in a given region to work collaboratively for the greater good. At this point in the game, we’re working with a chicken and egg scenario: without EVs on the road, EV infrastructure investment is challenging to justify, but without strategically placed EV infrastructure providing potential customers with confidence in the availability of accessible and reliable charging stations, folks are not going to buy an EV. Public/Private partnerships are the way to get things going.

The public sector is already invested in the common good with every dollar spent going to serve the community. The public sector holds public land in trust, controls the permitting/zoning process, has access to a great deal of State and Federal funds, is deft at writing and receiving grants, and is in charge of holding a vision and working towards it while making sure immediate needs are met. Private sector supported EV market development needs access to public land, bureaucracy fast tracking, government funds and grants, as well as a healthy blend of vision and practicality.

Along with strong public/private partnerships, BTS understands that the financial, business, industrial and non-profit sectors are also critical to community EV readiness. From car dealerships, to banks, to foundations, to electricians, to neighborhood associations—success will require all hands on deck. That is why BTS identifies and engages a communities AIMS Partners.

Some AIMS Partners may have expertise to contribute—an obvious asset. But for those who do not have direct EV-related expertise, their willingness to take calculated risks, encourage their stakeholders, and leverage their relationships can be even more valuable. When a wide breadth of constituencies speak with a common voice, community leaders listen. Whether advocating on behalf of the environmental, social or economic benefits of EV adoption, working to get infrastructure on the ground, encouraging a vibrant EV market, or funding EV projects, engaged AIMS Partners provide the will, strength and endurance necessary to transition a community to a brighter EV future.

BTS is here to help any community to articulate their own unique road map. Building off of our success creating effective public/private and AIMS partnerships, we understand the steps to take and the strategies that work.

Let us help get your community down the road.
