“In 2011, BTS and the City of Asheville partnered to install on municipal property the state’s first privately owned, solar power-integrated Brightfield Charging Station. Asheville City’s sustainability, city manager and legal departments worked with BTS to develop a public/private partnership framework and land lease agreement model that enables the City to receive Brightfield Charging Stations with no upfront cost, and allows BTS to own, operate and maintain the charging stations and control system revenues for a fixed period of time. It’s a win win: the City is able to provide employees and the public access to an innovative alternative fueling technology, make progress towards reaching sustainability and climate goals, and contribute to regional economic development. We value our partnership with BTS and the opportunity to offer the people of Asheville the chance to drive on sunshine.”

I have had the pleasure of working with the founders and staff of Brightfield Transportation Solutions for the past six years. They are dedicated to providing the highest quality products and service in the industry. They are committed to providing a “Solar Driven Experience” here in western North Carolina and across the nation via their solar integrated electric vehicle charging stations. They are leaders in the electric vehicle charging industry here in North Carolina, active in the NC Plug In Electric Vehicle (PEV) Task Force, and were key participants in the development of the NC PEV Readiness Plan. They are also key stakeholders in our Land of Sky Clean Vehicles Coalition, an affiliate of the US Department of Energy’s Clean Cities Program. They serve on our region’s Electric Vehicles Committee and assisted in developing the Asheville Area PEV Plan. They have successfully installed a network of Level II and DC Fast Chargers across the state. Their good work has brought them recognition from local and statewide organizations as a “Clean Cities Champion". I am confident that they will provide future clients with reliable charging infrastructure and outstanding service.
