Stan Cross, Brightfield TS Co-Founder and Principal focused on Communication, Marketing and Outreach. Also serves as Interim Director of Warren Wilson College’s Environmental Leadership Center; proven education, communication and sustainability implementation experience; maintains a network of national sustainability leaders; 2007 North Carolina Environmental Educator of the Year; 2010 recipient of the North Carolina Coastal Federation’s Pelican Award for Outstanding Partnership, 2013 Warren-Wilson College Educator of the Year.
Co-Founder and Principal
Matthew Johnson, Brightfield TS Co-Founder and Principal. Matthew is an entrepreneur specializing in triple-bottom-line business development. His wide variety of skills include; product design, systems integration, complex data analysis, public private partnership engagement, and residential and commercial construction project management.
Passionate for emission-free travel, Matt is a founding member of Asheville EV Committee, is a sustainable transportation advocate, and an avid backpacker. Matt has logged over 40,000 miles on bicycles; from cross continental touring, to mountain bike, downhill, road and cyclo-cross racing.
Marjorie J. Maginnis
Ms. Maginnis, a Shareholder at Maginnis Law Firm, PC, focuses her practice on commercial and property law. In her 20 years of experience, she has served as In-House counsel and worked in private practice representing clients in a variety of matters including: commercial transaction, residential and commercial land acquisitions, employment matters, administrative proceeds, mediations, arbitrations and appeals. Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Maginnis served as In-house Counsel for an International Elevator Company where she managed employment related litigation, created Loss Prevention and OSHA training programs and drafted and implemented national drug testing for more than 12,000 union and non-union employees nationwide and in Europe. She earned her JD with Honors in 1996 from St. Thomas University School of Law and her B.A. in Communications from The George Washington University in 1989.

Dale has served twenty years as designer of electrical systems such as lighting, power distribution, security, phone and data for new construction and building renovations. Principal Electrical Engineer in charge of design for state, commercial, industrial, institutional and health care facilities. Expertise includes designing for LEED and integrated building systems.
Angela and D. Ben Poss

Angela and Ben Poss, PE's - "We are proud to have been a part of Brightfield initiative. Our interest in Brightfield TS is both professional and personal. We enjoy working with these projects due to their complexity and knowing that the impact this will ultimately have on the environment. There has to be a change on how we power vehicles and we believe this is the best approach."
This experienced structural engineering team holds license in eight states (CO, FL, MS, NY, NC, SC, VA, LA). They specialize in steel, concrete, mountain and coastal construction of all forms. With Ben's specialty in hurricane research, he has tremendous experience with unique engineering solutions.
Baron Draughan - is Brightfield's rendering specialist. Born and raised in Kittyhawk, NC, Baron grew up son a general contractor, and was acting as job foreman by the age of 16 on mult-million dollar vacation home construction. His experience in construction led him toward sustainable design, and once he hit college, his computer skills set the path, earning him a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering and Technology from Western North Carolina University. He specializes in Advanced SolidWorks, CAD- AutoCAD, Cadwork 16, Sketch-Up, Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks, and Adobe Photoshop. Baron is also a professional kite-board instructor.
Steven Slack - is Brightfield TS's web engineer. Steven specializes in building websites and applications. He is also experienced in working with popular open source projects such as WordPress where he has spoken at several WordPress conferences championing the software. Steven is also working on the Brightfield Solar Driven Calculator as an online tool meant to help consumers and businesses with EV adoption.
